Flat Connections

Transforming learning through global collaboration

Hi everyone,

I am helping a school coordinate a program for their Society & Culture year 11 (17 year olds) classroom in Sydney, Australia. They are studying Intercultural Communication with a focus on Japanese culture and are required to conduct an interview with someone from another culture as part of their primary research task.

I've never coordinated this type of task before so I need a bit of guidance, but also I would like to make contact with a school in Japan who would have students of a similar age group that would be interested in taking part in this.

Im not even sure which tools would be best utilised for this task, although Skype and Wikis have been suggested. The school has videoconferencing facilities, however these are rarely utilised, particularly on a global scale. If anyone has any experience to offer, I would appreciate it.
